Directions are given by the winds (levante/east, greco/north-east, ponente/west, libeccio/south-west, maestro/north-west) with sixteenths for the fractions of the quarter. Named places include Cerreto, Vinci, Montopoli, Castelfranco, Santa Croce, Fucecchio, San Gimignano and Volterra. Among the books are Ptolemy's Cosmography, a Sphere of the world, Aristotle's Meteorology and a book of anatomy.
