The recto is filled by a large branching diagram of numbered circles that maps out a classification of proportion and proportionality. Beginning from node 1, 'proportion and proportionality', the branches divide into kinds such as common, proper, harmonic, arithmetic and geometric proportion, then into continuous and discontinuous, rational and irrational, and into equality, minor inequality and major inequality, down to composite and simple. The forty-odd numbered nodes lay out the whole taxonomy visually.
