Spoked wheel, building sketch and a letter fragment
An inked wheel with projecting buckets, faint architectural studies, and a greeting to a dear friend
The lower margin of folio 85v bears the opening of a personal letter, the only text transcribed from the page. Above it the sheet is dominated by drawings: an inked wheel with radial spokes and a ring of projecting buckets or vanes at the upper left, and faint pencil studies of a building with a flight of steps and a hatched sloping wall or roof. These drawings are not transcribed here, and further untranscribed matter may be present on the sheet.

Spoked wheel with projecting buckets
At the upper left a circular wheel is drawn in ink with radial spokes running to a hub and a ring of angled buckets or vanes set around its rim. It is the most finished element on the page.
Faint building sketch with steps and vaulting
Toward the centre of the sheet a light pencil underdrawing shows a built structure with a flight of steps at the lower left and a hatched sloping wall or roof to the right. The lines are faint and no accompanying text is transcribed.
Fragment of a letter to a dear friend
A single line at the foot of the page opens what appears to be a private letter, beginning 'dearest friend, only these...'. The sentence breaks off before its point is completed.
