Motion studies: trajectory arcs and a sprung device

The upper half of this leaf carries broad sweeping arcs, drawn like the curved paths of a moving body, while short paragraphs of mirror-script are set off under brief headings; the bundle gives no transcription, so the untranscribed text is described only by what is drawn. At the center-right stands a small mechanism: a vertical post carrying a wheel or ring at its top and a curved, sprung arm reaching to one side. Together the arcs, the numbered paragraph headings and the little device read as notes on motion and the behaviour of a mechanical part. The exact argument cannot be recovered without a reading of the text.
