Two leaves of the Ashburnham I (ex-Manuscript A) gathering lie open, both covered with Leonardo's mirror-script arranged in short headed paragraphs. An oval library stamp of the Bibliotheque de l'Institut de France is impressed on the sheet. No drawings accompany the text, and the bundle gives no transcription, so the wording is not rendered; further untranscribed text is present.
