A curved hull with vertical bars, a small rigged vessel, and a two-pronged pivoting tool
The centre of the leaf shows a curved hull-like form with a comb of vertical bars rising at one end, and lower down a small boat or galley sketched with oars or rigging beside a short caption in Leonardo's hand. Between them sits a two-pronged forked implement turning on a pivot. The stamp of the Institut de France appears at lower right. Dense mirror-writing fills the top and bottom of the page and is not transcribed here; further untranscribed text is present.

Galley and hull studies
A curved hull-like body with a row of upright bars at one end occupies the centre of the sheet, and a smaller boat or galley with oars or rigging is drawn below it. In the military context of the notebook these read as naval-vessel studies.
Two-pronged forked implement
Between the boat sketches a two-pronged fork or pincer is drawn turning on a central pivot, resembling an oarlock, wrench, or forked fitting. A short annotation in Leonardo's hand accompanies it.
