Columns of vocabulary words with a grotesque profile head
Several ruled columns of single words, a caricatured old man's head at the upper right
The sheet is filled with several columns of single words in Leonardo's mirror-script, in the manner of his vocabulary or word-list exercises; none of the words is transcribed in this bundle. At the upper right corner a rapidly drawn grotesque profile of an old man appears beside a stamp of the Bibliotheque de l'Institut de France and the folio number. The columns of words are further untranscribed text present on the sheet.

Columns of word-list vocabulary
Most of the page is taken up by multiple aligned columns of single words written in mirror-script, characteristic of Leonardo's word-list studies. Because the transcription was not supplied in this bundle, the individual words are not given here.
Grotesque profile of an old man
At the upper right corner a swiftly sketched caricature head is drawn in profile: a bald old man with an exaggerated hooked nose and a jutting chin. The head is set apart from the word columns, near the library stamp and folio number.
