Two faint boat sketches are drawn across the top of the sheet, each carrying an upright pole or mast with an angled arm that suggests a crane or shear-legs mounted on the hull. Boat-mounted lifting apparatus
Across the top of the sheet are two small boats, each fitted with a vertical pole or mast bearing an angled arm at its head, resembling a crane or set of shear-legs. A diagonal stay runs from the second mast down to the hull, and a further boat outline is faintly indicated at the right edge. The drawings are lightly sketched and study apparatus set on watercraft.
Vessels on the water
The devices are carried on small open boats shown afloat, the hulls drawn as simple curved outlines. The pairing of hulls with mast-mounted arms points to work carried out from vessels on water rather than on dry land.
