Wheeled war chariot, rigging with winch, and a derrick
A captioned wheeled chariot, a masted rigging study over a small boat, a boxed winch, and an A-frame derrick
A wheeled chariot, captioned in Leonardo's hand, is drawn across the top of the leaf. Below it a large rigging study of masts, stays and tackle rises over a small boat, with a boxed winch or windlass and its notes at the left. At the foot of the page are an A-frame timber derrick and a radiating star-burst form. Extensive mirror-writing fills the middle of the sheet and is not transcribed here; the Institut de France stamp appears at right and further untranscribed text is present.

Wheeled war chariot
Across the top of the leaf a chariot on large wheels is sketched and captioned in Leonardo's hand. Its placement among the notebook's military machines marks it as a war chariot study.
Rigging study with winch and pulley
The centre shows a rigging arrangement of masts, stays and tackle set over a small boat, while at the left a winch or windlass sits in a boxed frame with dimensioning notes. Together they read as a hauling or hoisting apparatus.
A-frame derrick and radiating burst
At the foot of the page an A-frame timber derrick is braced over a base, and beside it a radiating star-burst form is drawn within a circle. The burst may indicate an explosion or a spiked head, though it is left undescribed in the transcription.
