Column wrapped in juniper garlands
Four poles are tied around the column and hung with withies a finger thick; then, starting from the foot, one binds little bundles of juniper tips turned upside down, with half a braccio between each ring, working upward.

Fixing poles to bind juniper on a vault armature
Poles fixed onto the armature of the vault carry the little bundles of juniper, which are bound on with willow; the superfluous tips are trimmed with shears and worked over with willow.

Two long curved trussed frameworks of crossed timber laths are drawn across the top of the sheet, the armatures over which the greenery of an ornamental vault would be dressed.
