Timber framing studies beneath a repeat of the cradle apparatus
The upper part of the sheet repeats the curved cradle apparatus of the preceding folio in red chalk. Below it are two framing studies: a small bracket of beams set against a wall, captioned as beams over crenellated walls, and a table-like frame stiffened by a truss, labelled as the section of a strong floor. The notes treat the timber construction of floors and of beams resting on defensive, battlemented walls.

Section of a strong floor (solaro)
A table-like frame is braced by an internal truss and labelled as the section of a strong floor. The drawing shows the timber members that stiffen a load-bearing floor structure.
