Laundry building and the erosion of a divided current
A building fitted for washing, with a note on how split then rejoined water scours the bank
At the top a red-chalk drawing shows a building with fittings identified in the note as equipment for laundry. A lower red-chalk sketch of moving water accompanies a hydraulic observation: if a stream falls and splits into a divided course, then where the branches rejoin they gouge depth and ruin into the bank because there is little back-eddy to cushion them.
