Stamped Metalwork and Interlaced Rings
Decorative figures: stamped work and a design of four rings
The notes label the sheet with decorative figures: 'quarter-coins or other stamped works,' and 'four rings — a plate of stamped iron, or of burnished repousse.' In red chalk the page carries an interlaced pattern of linked rings arranged in a lattice at upper right, a line of mirror text, and further ring and knot studies with additional lines of text below.

Stamped decorative work
The first note heads the sheet as decorative figures and calls them 'quarter-coins or other stamped works.' It points to small pressed or embossed ornaments of the kind produced by stamping.
Design of four interlaced rings
The second note describes 'four rings' to be made as 'a plate of stamped iron or of burnished repousse.' In red chalk a lattice of linked circles and clusters of overlapping rings works out this interlaced ring ornament.
