If a power moves one pound a thousand braccia with its full strength, how far will it move the same weight taken from twelve ounces down to one? And if the power moves ten pounds a hundred braccia, how far will it move them broken into ten separate one-pound parts, or into 5 and 4? Leonardo asks the proportion of the spaces of the first percussions when weights of 1, 2, 3 and 4 pounds are thrown together at one time, and how far one goes from the other.
