Written upside down, the note lists the working measurements of the earth-moving machine seen on the neighbouring folios. It gives the wheel a diameter of ten and three-quarter braccia, the winding-shaft thirteen once thick, the boom nineteen braccia long and the rope two once thick, then counts two hundred and fifty cycles per load-box for raising and returning it. Below, a plain circle stands for the wheel and a trestle of two posts under a beam sketches the machine's frame. The page fixes the proportions of the hoist that clears the trench.

Working dimensions of the machine
The measurements set the wheel at ten and three-quarter braccia in diameter, the winding-shaft (subbio) at thirteen once thick, the boom (falcone) at nineteen braccia long and the rope at two once thick. Two hundred and fifty beats or turns are reckoned for each load-box in raising and returning it.
Frame of the excavating hoist
Below the figures a plain circle marks the great wheel and a simple trestle of two uprights carrying a horizontal beam sketches the supporting frame. It is the structure on which the earth-lifting rig would be mounted at the excavation.
