Composite beam and mechanical device sketches
Captions for a hopper, two opposed motors, and a composite beam
The leaf carries three short Italian labels attached to mechanical sketches drawn across the page: a hopper 'for a dove', 'two opposed motors' beside a 'panel of the marzocco', and a 'composite beam'. The drawings show a long built-up beam with bracketed ends at the top, a tapering member carrying a disc on an axle with a strip of round holes in the middle, and a hatched wedge or dovetail form at the foot. The notes are written inverted (capovolto) relative to the page. Much faint offset script also shows through from the other side of the leaf.

Composite beam
A caption ('device with: composite beam') names the long built-up beam drawn along the top of the leaf. It is shown as a horizontal member with reinforced bracket ends and internal joints, of the kind Leonardo studied for joining timbers into a stronger span.
Two opposed motors
A label reads 'two opposed motors' and 'panel of the marzocco', set beside the central sketch. That drawing shows a tapering arm carrying a disc mounted on an axle, with a perforated strip running alongside.
Hopper for a dove
A short caption ('hopper for a dove') labels a feeding-hopper of the kind used in a dovecote. It sits with the other device notes on the inverted portion of the page.
