Portrait of a Woman Holding a Sprig
Half-length female figure with crossed hands and a leafy branch
A heavily rubbed, tonal half-length portrait of a young woman shown nearly frontally, her long hair parted at the center and falling to the shoulders. She wears a soft draped gown and rests her arms crossed at the waist, one hand holding a slender leafy sprig that rises diagonally across the chest. The image is much worn and abraded, with a horizontal fold across the sheet, but the modelling of the face in soft light and shadow is still legible. No text accompanies the drawing.

Half-length female portrait
The woman is presented at half length, her head slightly turned, hair parted centrally and flowing over the shoulders. Her arms are crossed low across the body and one hand holds a thin branch bearing a few leaves that crosses the chest diagonally. The features are softly modelled in graded tone.
