The sheet, cut to an irregular shape, carries a strongly modelled head of a man seen in left profile, his hair rendered as a mass of tight curls that fall over the brow and ear. The features are firm and idealized in the antique manner, with a straight nose, heavy brow and full lips, built up in dense parallel hatching. Below the head are fainter, sketchier lines and a small inscription or collector's mark whose wording is not supplied in this bundle and is left untranscribed.

Profile head with abundant curly hair
A man's head is turned in full left profile, his abundant curls springing back from the forehead and framing the face. The nose is straight and the jaw strong, and the whole is shaded with fine parallel strokes that give the head sculptural relief.
