Faint Sketches of Hanging Forms and a Roundel
A faded rail of repeated tufted motifs above a small roundel; heavily rubbed
A heavily faded sheet bearing faint sketches in red chalk and pen. Across the upper part runs a horizontal rail from which hang a row of repeated tufted, plant-like forms, each tied at the middle and splayed at the top. A darker rectangular blot at the centre appears to be an offset or mounting stain, and a faint roundel with radiating internal lines is drawn at the lower left. An ink inscription crosses the top of the sheet; as no transcription is supplied, this untranscribed text is not read here.

Row of repeated hanging motifs on a rail
A horizontal line near the top of the sheet supports a series of similar hanging forms, evenly spaced like a decorative frieze or garland. Each element narrows to a tie at its middle and opens into a tuft above, the whole reading as a repeated ornamental motif.
Faint roundel and plant-like tufts
The hanging forms resemble small bound plants or shrubs, their splayed upper parts suggesting foliage. A faint roundel enclosing radiating lines is sketched at the lower left, lightly drawn and much rubbed.
