Study of a Nude Child (Putto)
Red chalk study of an infant's chubby torso and leg
A small red chalk study of a nude child, or putto, shown in a twisting pose with the plump torso and one raised, bent leg strongly modelled. The soft rolls of infant flesh at the belly, thigh and knee are built up with warm chalk, while the head and far side dissolve into faint, unfinished contours. A lightly drawn arc behind the figure and a collector's stamp at lower right complete the sheet.

Twisting nude infant
A young child is studied nude, the rounded torso turning as one bent leg lifts across the body. Red chalk models the dimpled flesh of the belly, buttock and thigh, while the upper body and opposite side are left as faint, searching outlines.
