He raises his right arm to grip a long staff or pole that runs down the right side of the sheet, while his left hand rests on his hip and his head tilts back and up. The musculature of the chest, arms and legs is strongly modelled, with light hatching indicating the ground and cast shadow. An inventory number appears at upper right and a collector's stamp at lower right.
