Red Chalk Study of Arms and an Open Hand

In red chalk on reddish paper, this sheet studies the outward form of arms: a forearm crosses the lower part of the sheet while an open hand with spread fingers is drawn at the upper right. The forms are modelled with hatching to convey rounded muscle and the play of light. An oval collection stamp appears at the lower left, and no autograph text is present.
