This red-chalk sheet studies a foreshortened forearm terminating in a clenched fist at the lower left, strongly modelled with dense hatching and blended shadow. A smaller subsidiary sketch of a grasping hand and folds appears at lower centre. A few lines of handwriting are visible at the right of the sheet but were not transcribed in this bundle; a collection stamp appears at the lower centre.

Forearm ending in a clenched fist
The main study renders a foreshortened forearm that descends to a tightly clenched fist at the lower left. The rounded muscle and the knuckles are built up with close hatching and blended shadow.
Subsidiary study of a grasping hand
Below and to the right a smaller sketch shows a hand closing on folds of cloth or a similar form, more lightly drawn than the principal study.
