Arithmetical calculations; blank facing leaf
The recto carries columns of multiplications and fractions with pen doodles; the facing leaf is blank.
The transcription notes that the left leaf (256v) is without writing or figures, while the right leaf (253r) bears writings, figures and numerical calculations. The scan of 253r shows several columns of arithmetical working, with whole numbers, fractions and running products set out and struck through, interspersed with a few looping pen-trials and small concentric-oval doodles. The digits themselves are not read here. The upper corner also carries later cataloguers' inventory numbers rather than notes by Leonardo.

Columns of multiplications and fractions
The right leaf is worked over with several short columns of calculation, combining whole numbers and fractions with drawn division lines and struck-through products. The arrangement is that of practical arithmetic exercises rather than a continuous text. A few looping pen-trials and concentric-oval doodles accompany the figures.
