The catalogue records this side as bearing no writing, yet it carries a carefully ruled geometric construction. Within a circle laid out on two perpendicular axes, straight lines radiate from points around the rim and sweep inward to give a pinwheel effect, while a spiralling band of overlapping semicircular arcs coils toward the centre. A smaller circle enclosing a triangle and further arcs is drawn at the lower right.

Spiral of semicircular arcs within a ruled circle
