Beams stayed by cords at varying angles, with pulleys and swept-arc force fans
The folio bears no writing of Leonardo's, marked in the source as 'without writings'; it is filled with diagrams of a beam or bracket projecting from a vertical post, each stayed by a diagonal cord and fitted with pulleys, drawn at a range of inclinations, together with fan-shaped sweeps of lines showing the arm rotated through successive angles. Faint lines show through from the other side of the sheet. The drawings continue the study of the forces in an obliquely supported, loaded beam.

A beam stayed by a cord at varying angles
Successive diagrams show a beam or bracket carried at different inclinations by a stay-cord, with a fan of radiating lines tracing the arm through a range of angles. They analyse how the pull in the cord and the load on the post change as the beam is raised or lowered.
Pulleys and stay-cords on a bracket
Each bracket is fitted with one or more pulleys through which the stay-cord runs, linking the projecting arm to the vertical post. Rows of these pulley-and-cord arrangements fill both columns of the sheet.
