Verso Without Writing: Charcoal Wedge and Show-Through
Editorial note records the sheet was invisible before restoration
An editorial note records that this verso was invisible before restoration and bears no writing. What is visible is the faint show-through of the recto's machine and girth studies together with a large, heavily shaded charcoal wedge-form drawn along the right edge, which echoes the pointed wedge of the recto mechanism.

Charcoal wedge and recto show-through
A broad, dark charcoal wedge is shaded down the right side of the sheet, while the rest of the surface shows only the ghosted show-through of the drawings on the recto. No writing is present on this side.
