Double Girth for Mules and a Wedge Mechanism
Coiled and ring-form pack-animal girths above a mechanical device
At the top of the sheet Leonardo draws a double girth (strap) for mules, noting that such a girth can be made in one piece in the manner of a ring, matching the coiled and drum-like forms sketched there. The center of the page is dominated by an untranscribed mechanical device built around a large wedge, flanked by boxes and further pen and pencil studies. A faint pencil memorandum records something given on a certain day, and additional untranscribed pencil work (a numeral, a small flower, and a compass-drawn circle) is present at the lower right.

Double girth for pack mules
A strap or girth of double construction intended for mules. The two coiled, banded forms drawn at the top of the sheet illustrate the doubled strap.
One-piece girth made like a ring
Leonardo notes that such a girth can be made from a single piece, in the manner of a ring. The neighboring drum- or ring-shaped drawing shows the continuous one-piece form.
Central wedge device (untranscribed)
A larger mechanism occupies the middle of the sheet, organized around a long pointed wedge with rectangular housings to either side. This drawing carries no accompanying transcribed text.
