Geared cart and a spring-driven mechanism
A wheeled cart driven by gearing, with a large spring-motor set in a frame.
A densely worked sheet of mechanical studies in pen and ink, without writing. At the top a four-wheeled cart is shown driven through a large toothed gear and axle wheel, with a lever-and-drum detail isolated at the upper left. The centre is filled by a big spring-driven mechanism housed in a hatched rectangular frame, where two great curved leaf-springs arch symmetrically and bear on toothed sectors and gear-wheels. Smaller cranks, gear-wheels and a hammer-like linkage are sketched around the lower margins.

Wheeled cart driven by gearing
At the top of the sheet a four-wheeled cart is drawn in plan and elevation, its motion transmitted through a large toothed gear meshing with an axle wheel. A separate detail at the upper left isolates a pivoted arm carrying a small drum.
Spring-motor within a rectangular frame
The centre of the sheet is occupied by a large mechanism set in a hatched rectangular frame: two great curved leaf-springs arch symmetrically and press upon toothed sectors and gear-wheels, storing and releasing force. Cross-braced struts support the assembly.
Subsidiary cranks and gear details
Around the lower margins smaller components are worked out: a crank turning a toothed wheel, a spool or capstan, and a hammer-like linkage lying on a board. These appear to develop details of the larger mechanism above.
