Lever linkages of bone and sinew, with household accounts
A lettered lever ratio (a, b, c, g, f, d, e), a limb modelled as bone and sinew, and a marketing list
The sheet is filled with faint sketches of articulated lever linkages, one of them labelled to model a limb as bone (osso) and sinew (nervo). A lettered mechanism a, b, c, g, f, d, e carries the ratio that when e rises half a braccio, b descends one braccio and a descends two braccia. Interspersed with the drawings are a short household marketing list (bread, wine, roots, roast) and columns of numbers, and along the left margin a note of Monday-morning expense of 8 soldi 4 denari with further figures.

Displacement ratio of a lettered lever linkage
A mechanism marked a, b, c, g, f, d, e is analysed for the travel of its members: when e rises half a braccio, b lowers by one braccio and a lowers by two braccia. The doubling and halving express the leverage ratio of the jointed arms about their pivots.
A limb drawn as bone and sinew
Among the articulated linkages one figure is annotated 'osso' (bone) and 'nervo' (sinew), modelling a limb as a mechanical member driven by a tendon. Further jointed lever mechanisms are sketched across the sheet in lead and ink.
Household marketing list and Monday expense
A short list of provisions with figures beside them records bread (pan), wine (vin), roots (radici) and roast (arosto). Along the left margin a separate note reckons Monday morning at 8 soldi 4 denari, followed by columns of small sums.
