Duomo di Milano account register with fraction exercises
Debit and credit entries of the Cathedral works, on which Leonardo added arithmetical operations
This leaf is a reused page from the account register of the Fabbrica del Duomo of Milan, invisible before restoration, carrying facing columns of debit and credit entries with names, folio references and sums in lire, soldi and denari. In the lower space Leonardo has added numbers and short arithmetical operations, among them the fraction exercises 1/2 : 3/5 = 5/6, 1/3 x 5/9 = 5/27 and 5/27 : 1/3 = 15/27. Faint additional sketches are also visible on the sheet, but they are not covered by the transcription.
