Profile head of a man, with small red-chalk sketches
A black-chalk bust in profile; the verso was recorded blank before restoration
Although the transcription records this verso as blank and invisible before restoration, the restored sheet in fact shows a substantial drawing. A man's head and shoulders are drawn in black chalk in right profile, the face firmly modelled with heavy shading along the cheek, jaw and neck. Above, a cluster of small sketches in red chalk lays out little frame-like structures or devices. No original text accompanies the drawings.

Head of a man in profile
A man is drawn from the shoulders up in right profile, worked in black chalk with strong shadow modelling the cheek, jaw and neck, the features pronounced and the hair close about the head. The bust fills the lower two-thirds of the sheet.
Small red-chalk sketches of frame-like forms
In the upper part several small sketches in red chalk outline simple frame- or stand-like forms with uprights and cross-members, apparently summary studies of small structures or devices. They are faint and lightly drawn.
