Columns of household accounts in lire, soldi and denari
Ledger totals with two long divisions worked in the margin; the sheet trimmed at its edges
One half of this leaf is filled with columns of figures belonging to accounting entries reckoned in lire, soldi and denari, with horizontal rules drawn beneath the columns just before their totals. In the upper right stand two long divisions, 357 divided by 16 (22, remainder 5) and 4757 divided by 35, the latter carried through with an early slip. Several figures were rewritten and are hard to read, and the mutilation of some operations shows that the margins of the sheet were later cut away. The page is inverted with respect to its recto and the other half is blank.

Columns of accounts in lire, soldi and denari
Half the sheet carries stacked columns of money figures reckoned in lire, soldi (s) and denari (d), the running sums such as 1365 s 18 d 9 and 2845 s 4 d 3 built up entry by entry. A horizontal rule is drawn under each column just before its total, marking off the addition or subtraction that follows.
Two long divisions worked in the upper right
In the upper right corner the division 357 : 16 = 22, remainder 5, is begun, broken off and taken up again. Beside it the division 4757 : 35 = 364, remainder 17, is compromised by an error made at the outset. The two calculations sit apart from the accounting columns that fill the rest of the side.
