The sheet is crowded with faint mechanical drawings: tall vertical frames strung with bead-like chains, gears, cranks and hoisting or lifting devices. Along the top runs a table of Latin grammar setting out the parts of speech and the accidents of nouns and verbs, and in the upper left a multiplication is worked out (100 times 25 giving 2,500). A short note set between two holes records a measurement. Further faint drawings and offsets are present that the transcription does not cover.

Latin grammar table: parts of speech and their accidents
A ruled table sets out the parts of speech (eight: noun, verb, participle, pronoun, preposition, adverb, interjection, conjunction) and the accidents of nouns and verbs, species, genus and number, together with the genera of verbs (active, passive, neuter) and their tenses (present, imperfect, pluperfect).
A multiplication worked out
Alongside the grammar table numbers are set in a column and worked into a product: 100 and 25 giving 2,500, with 500 and 200 as intermediate figures.
