This lightly drawn sheet carries an array of mechanical sketches — a large wheel with radiating blades, a coiled rope wound on a drum, buckets, a toothed rack, and further gear — together with a single note. Leonardo directs that these buckets be made wide at the mouth, as shown above, so that they will not catch the wind. A leafy sprig and additional mechanical detail are also drawn but are not covered by the transcription.
