In the upper half a red-chalk (sanguigna) apparatus turns on a central vertical axis inside an oval track, annotated with a spring that locks when it rests and releases of itself, described as being 'of the nature of a screw'. Turned upside down, a second note gives the measurements of a building: a facade of 18 or 19 braccia, an entrance, a study, a hall and a granary. Columns of figures and multiplications occupy the lower right. Further faint sketches, including a lattice grid and small framed devices, are present but not transcribed.

Spring apparatus 'of the nature of a screw'
A rotating apparatus is set on a central axis, drawn in red chalk within an oval track. A spring is noted which, resting against the mechanism, holds it fast and then of itself lets it go, its action likened to that of a screw.
Measurements of a hall, entrance, and study
The facade is 18 braccia of empty span, or 19 in all; the entrance is 6 braccia and the study 11 and a half. A hall is 18 braccia long, 12 wide and 8 high, the study 7 and a half high, with rooms and a granary 4 braccia high.
Columns of figures and multiplications
Several stacked columns of numbers with multiplications and partial products, including round figures such as 27000 and 20000, and a short worked column summing to 315.
