A few sanguigna lines of a fortification; its detail is developed on the recto
A few light lines in red chalk (sanguigna) lay out a fortification, sketched more summarily than on the recto; the e-Leo note records that the fuller detail is developed on the recto of the sheet. An angular wall and a broad curved arc — the flank of a bastion — are the main elements, with the recto's drawing also faintly showing through the paper. The leaf was invisible before restoration.

Light chalk lines with recto showing through
Besides the sketched fortification, the drawing on the recto shows through the thin paper as a faint reversed image. The chalk work here is lighter and less resolved than the developed detail on the other side.
