The e-Leo transcription records this verso as blank and notes it was invisible before the sheet's restoration. The strong image on the page is the recto's machine seen through the thin paper: a tall frame carrying a long curved sprung arm braced by a triangular strut, linked by a taut line to a large spoked wheel turned by a standing figure at the right. The Codex Atlanticus catalogue files the recto under natural philosophy, among the so-called 'sophistic wheels' (false perpetual-motion devices).
