Cart drive and apparatus for a hollow fire-sphere
A wheeled cart with steering, and a turning device for casting a hollow sphere to throw fire
At the upper right a wheeled cart is drawn with labels explaining how its wheels are made to turn and how the main wheel is pivoted on a square block. The large central apparatus, marked T and S, is described as a way to make a hollow sphere for throwing fire: T is the former that shapes the hollow and S the sphere that turns beneath it. Around them are numerous smaller mechanisms — turned balusters, spheres and gear fittings. The Ambrosiana index also notes water-lifting devices, an auger, a lantern gear and a tool for forcing doors.

The wheeled cart at upper right is annotated a - b: a is the means for making the cart's wheels turn, and b is the square block on which the main wheel is pivoted. The drawing shows the axle, wheels and turning gear.
Apparatus for a hollow fire-sphere (T, S)
The central machine is described as a way to make a hollow sphere for throwing fire. Where T is marked stands the former that shapes the hollow exactly, and where S is marked stands the sphere that turns beneath the former. This produces the hollow incendiary shell.
