The verso of this leaf was invisible before restoration and, as the e-Leo caption records, bears no writing or drawing of its own; only faint show-through from the recto and a marginal column of numbers appear against the thin, translucent sheet. The Codex Atlanticus subject tags associate the sheet as a whole with distillation apparatus - an alembic, a furnace and a drum (timpani) - whose content lies on the other side.
