Under 'De moto', Leonardo lists forms of bombard to study: those narrow at the base and wide at the mouth, the straight and the 'kneeling' (bent) kinds, and likewise the tails narrow at the base and wide at the mouth. He resolves to test the force of their percussions by the flame-blasts of firing. Faint offset from the facing leaf shows through in the lower half of the page.
