Weights on cords: end-loads follow the ratio of the angles

Leonardo states that the ends of a cord receive the attached weight in the same proportion the angles a n b and b n c bear to one another; since the weights here are equal (4 and 4/6 on each side), the two angles meeting at n are found equal too. The cord-ends share the load in the proportion of the two angles at n
Whatever proportion the angles a n b and b n c have between themselves, in that proportion the ends of the cord receive the weight attached to it. Because the weights here are equal, that is 4 and 4/6 against 4 and 4/6, the two angles meeting at n are likewise found equal.
