Seven horizontal balance beams are ranged down the page, each divided into graduated parts and hung with three boxed weights. Together they exercise the triangular-balance procedure across a range of weight combinations. A caption calls the whole set 'tested'.
Weight triples and their derived products
Each row pairs a triple of given weights with the numbers produced by the method, e.g. 2, 4, 1 yielding 6, 12, 4, 3, 2, and 10, 2, 12 yielding 100, 20, 4, 120, 96. The larger products are cross-multiplications of weight by arm-division used to fix each counterweight.
