A red-chalk sheet recording a land survey as a closed polygonal traverse, its vertices labelled with distances in braccia and compass bearings. The bearings run through the quarters of west (ponente), south (mezzodi), sirocco (south-east) and east (levante), with legs such as 45, 55, 30, 48, 78 and 74 braccia. Two versions of the same outline are noted, one running from a fourth-west leg, the other beginning with the 45 braccia leg. Faint geometric figures of triangles and circles from the notebook's ongoing quadrature studies show through at the left.

Surveyed polygon with bearings and distances
A closed outline is set down by successive legs, each given a distance in braccia and a compass quarter: fourth-west 45, half-west 55, three-quarters-west 30, then 48, three-quarters-south 78, quarter-sirocco 74 and three-quarters-sirocco. The figure reads as a surveyor's traverse of a plot of ground.
A second traverse of the same outline
The central polygon repeats the survey with the legs reordered: 45 fourth-west, 55 half-west, 30 three-quarters-west, half-south, 48 quarter-sirocco, 78 three-quarters-sirocco and 30 half-east, closing the circuit.
Faint geometric constructions in the left column
At the left, faint figures of triangles subdivided by internal lines and circles with inscribed figures continue the notebook's quadrature studies. No transcription is supplied for these; they survive only as ghostly under-drawings on this leaf.
