The upper sheet shows a long pivoting beam or arm from which a woven, basket-like bucket hangs, next to a small masted craft with rigging and a slung load. Below a block of Leonardo's mirror-script, a group of straight ladders leans against a low platform or wall in a way that reads as scaling equipment. All of the writing here is Leonardo's own hand and is not included in this bundle, so it is left untranscribed.

Pivoting arm with suspended bucket and a small rigged boat
At upper left a long segmented beam carries a woven, basket-shaped bucket hung from its far end, in the manner of a hoisting arm or well-sweep. To the right a small craft is drawn with two masts, rigging lines and a suspended load, suggesting a shipboard lifting arrangement.
Scaling ladders against a low structure
Beneath the central block of text several straight, rung-marked ladders lean at an angle against a low horizontal platform or wall, read here as scaling ladders. Adjoining freehand lines sketch the structure they rest upon.
