Roof framing, a radiating burst, a pulley pole and ramps
Architectural, mechanical and military sketches; text untranscribed
This leaf, numbered folio 2 and stamped by the Bibliotheque de l'Institut de France, gathers several unrelated sketches: a corner of timber roof or wall framing at the top, a burst of many lines radiating from a central point beside a small stand of cylindrical containers, a tall post carrying a wheel or pulley with a ladder leaning against it, and, at the foot, an inclined ramp or embankment next to a tall cross-hatched framed structure. Blocks of Leonardo's mirror-script surround the drawings and are not included in this bundle, so they are left untranscribed.

Timber framing and a ramped framed structure
Across the top of the sheet a corner of beamed roof or wall framing is drawn in perspective. At the foot an inclined ramp or embankment rises toward a tall rectangular frame filled with cross-hatching, suggesting a built enclosure or wall section approached by a ramp.
Pole with wheel or pulley and leaning ladder
At the right a tall vertical post is topped by a small wheel or pulley, with a long ladder set against it. Nearby a small apparatus of upright cylindrical containers stands on a shelf or table.
Radiating burst beside cylindrical containers
At mid-left a dense spray of straight lines radiates outward from a small central point, reading as an explosion, incendiary discharge or spray. It sits beside a group of short cylindrical vessels, but no accompanying label is transcribed to confirm its purpose.
