Cranes, wheeled carts, pulleys and geared wheels
Studies of hoisting and wheeled mechanisms; text untranscribed
The leaf is crowded with mechanical sketches: a tall mast or derrick rigged with stays and pulleys rising from a boat-like base, wheeled carriages carrying angled beams, several pulley blocks with suspended balls, and, lower down, toothed geared wheels and a wheel-and-axle arrangement. Blocks of Leonardo's mirror-script are set among the drawings but are not included in this bundle and are therefore left untranscribed.

Rigged derrick and wheeled hoisting carts
A tall mast or derrick, braced by stays and fitted with pulleys, rises from a shallow boat-like base at the centre of the sheet. Around it are wheeled carriages carrying long angled beams and further pulley blocks from which weights hang, forming a set of hoisting and hauling mechanisms.
Geared wheels and wheel-and-axle
Toward the foot of the sheet are toothed gear wheels meshing together and a wheel-and-axle drawn in front and side view, studies of the transmission of force through wheels and pulleys.
