Vortices and air masses deflected by obstacles
Several loosely drawn eddies show currents of air curling back on themselves where their path is blocked. The middle band is a row of paired spirals, while the lowest figure shows a broad flow spreading out past a low upright barrier. The sketches treat moving air as a fluid that forms whirls at points of obstruction.
