Armed warrior kneeling, with two armour details
Red-chalk figure study with a profile head, an arm-guard and a mailed fist
In red chalk Leonardo sketches the partial figure of an armed warrior, described in the catalogue caption as kneeling in profile, with a capped head study at the upper left. To the right he isolates two details of the armour: an upper cylindrical, banded arm-piece worked with hatching and, below it, a clenched armoured fist or gauntlet. No text accompanies the sheet beyond the cataloguer's note.

Kneeling armed warrior in profile
A youthful head in profile, wearing a close cap, sits above a lightly drawn draped body. The figure is only partly worked up in red chalk, the outlines of the torso and lower limbs left summary.
Two studies of armour pieces
At the upper right is a cylindrical, banded arm-guard rendered with hatching; below it a clenched armoured fist or gauntlet is drawn in red chalk. These are the two details of the armour noted in the caption.
