Dated plan of the canal-port, 6 September 1502, and fortification studies
Headed "Port of Cesenatico, 6 September 1502, at the 15th hour," the sheet records a survey of the canal-port with a compass bearing and a run of measurements. A plan of the harbour appears above, while below and to the sides are fortification studies: a section of a bastion at the left and, at the right, a note on how bastions must project beyond the walls to defend the outer embankment against artillery. The drawings are set down with the page inverted.

Dated survey of Porto Cesenatico
The heading fixes the survey to Porto Cesenatico on 6 September 1502 at the 15th hour. It records a dated, first-hand survey of the port. The upper drawing lays out the canal-port in plan.
Plan of the canal-port with bearing and measures
The plan is annotated with a quarter-north bearing and a series of figures: 50, 43, 57, 17, 14, 89, 2201, 200. These give the dimensions and orientation of the harbour channel. The measurements accompany the bird's-eye layout.
Bastions projecting to defend against artillery
The note asks in what way bastions must issue out beyond the walls of a place so as to defend the outer embankment, so that it is not battered by artillery. It is illustrated by a plan of a fortification at the right. The concern is defending the outer line from enfilading fire.

At the left the caption marks a section of a bastion, shown as a hatched, waisted mass. It pairs with the fortification plan opposite. No text beyond the caption describes it.
